When we submitted our plan to the Heritage Lottery Fund, what feels like many moons ago, we planned a booklet, together with information boards around the village to share the findings of our research. The idea of a Heritage Trail using the public footpaths and permissive pathways around the old township of Osgodby emerged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having sought various quotes and had discussions with graphic designers about our vision for information boards, we commissioned Acorn Workshop to design lecterns and boards. There was a lot of loading up information and photographs on to the gdrive, and proofs being emailed backwards and forwards, and telephone calls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, contents and design sorted, where do we put these boards? There was much discussion and lively debates! The main A1 board was destined for the corner near the bus stop in the village, but that had to be re-thought, licenses from the County Council and maintenance costs etc., became a hassle and costly! Plan B was the Barlby & Osgodby Town Council agreed it could go on their land outside the playing field – not our first choice but as in the proverb “beggars can’t be choosers”! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
