Arriving at 10:20am, Jan and Shirley looked at a few odd documents and then loaded-up the microfiche to read the Barlby &amp; Osgodby Parish Council Minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were fascinated to know what the \u201cFire Appliance\u201d cupboard was. What did it contain, where was it stored? The only thing we knew was that it was painted every year, and new glass put in. We also established Osgodby had to pay for the privilege of using it. This was in the 1920s when Barlby and Osgodby were separate civil Parishes. We also gleaned a bit of history about Osgodby Playing field which was a surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shirley suddenly uttered the words \u201cwhat time is it\u201d and on looking it was 3:20pm . They had missed lunch! Time to get the train and head home \u2013 even the Archive staff thought we had left! On the next visit we\u2019ll ask staff to tell us when it\u2019s lunch time!
