Jan and Shirley went on an interesting train journey today. They went to North Yorkshire Archives in Northallerton to seek aerial photographs of Osgodby. On arrival, we had to explain we were Osgodby near Selby – not Osgodby Scarborough, Thirsk or Lincolnshire. We were amused to find that any photographs were under “Barlby” (Barlby & Osgodby Parish), or under miscellaneous.

Roughly cross-referencing a map, we tried to establish which photographs may include Osgodby. The friendly staff were very helpful and patient with us as we requested photographs to be retrieved from the archives.

We had fruitful day and ordered a large array of photographs. We await them with interest so we ponder on them at leisure.
