It was our monthly meeting last night. We were pleased to welcome Janet and Jen to the meeting. We all introduced ourselves, and Jen had brought along a Guinness cake – which went down very well with the group!

Mark gave a talk on “Building Archaeology” sharing the “tools of the trade”, approaches and outcomes.
This was followed-up looking at the photographs of The Waddy which had been taken during the visit there the week before. The treasurers in the attic were revealed, and speculation of how old “the door” and “wooden panels” were. Discussion and speculation on the hooks in the wall.
There was plenty of discussion on where the toilets used to be in the 60s/70s. Mark is on a mission to get any planning applications from the Local Authority which may help us as we track back the layout of the building, so we can provide some evidence of all the feedback we have had of the Waddy going back to the 1940s.
We look forward to Mark’s analysis of the work undertaken
