Thank you to everyone who came along to the Osgodby Feast and for the lovely feedback you gave us. It was great to see all the generations not only enjoying the entertainment but asking questions about the exhibition.

It was an early start for some, and an anxious time until 11 00 am to see if anyone would come along. The stallholders arrived at 9 30 am to set-up the “market” – all local artisans showing casing their skills. A bit of a hiccup with the food truck as they arrived without the chips – but soon rectified. All the lovely volunteers got stuck in putting up the marquees for the games, it was great to see traditional coconut shy, hoopla and roll a ball (the latter proving very popular).

There was excitement when the vintage hand-cranked roundabout arrived, it was never empty – so much so the lovely guy who came with it said he had never known it so busy in all the event he attends.

The music was great!

In the hall, it was very busy with people looking around the exhibition, asking questions, and commenting on how busy the Group must have been! People were sat at tables having a cuppa and reminiscing, as the display had brought back memories, and statement such as “I didn’t know that”!

At 4 00 pm it is was the big clear-up and getting ready for the finale of the day an evening traditional Ceilidh. the evening was a hoot and the band were brilliant and the caller kept everyone on the dance floor.

Shall we make sure the Osgodby Feast is here to stay, and do it all again next year?

Osgodby Feast and a great day had by all
