As the HLF funding comes to an end on 30 September, we’ve been doing “the paperwork”.
We had written our evaluation of the project, listed all our activities, it was great to see the project all in one document – we have been busy bees. If only we had not had that strange time called the “pandemic”!
Cross checking our records to make sure we hadn’t missed anything. We were adrift at one point by £180, and it was frustrating that we couldn’t track the offending item down. Making lists, crossing things off lists when we had double checked them. Finally, we tracked the offending £180, which we were not actually submitting to the HLF! Then it was on to the on-line submission form! Did it match our records – yes it did!
Invoices uploaded, items under £250 all accounted for it was time to hit the “send” button, and in the blink of an eye it was gone.
We are grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for supporting our project. New friends made, new skills learnt but most importantly we had fun!
Our work is not over, we have a list as long as out arm of documents to still track down in the Local Archives, people coming forward to record their Living Memories – it’s going to keep us occupied for the next few years! Even now, people are asking “what’s our next project going to be”?
