It was a night of technology mis-behaving! The portable projector flickered on and off all night, but we managed to ignore it with the occasional utterings of “grr flipping heck, what’s wrong with it”. Tea and coffee cups filled, we started the evening.
Jon talked us through the initial findings of the geophysics we had done a couple of weeks ago. Nothing jumped-out of some earth shattering find! Never mind, onwards and upwards. We agreed to dig some trenches during April and May “on the square”. Importantly, we were planning how to get the refreshments over the hedge from neighbouring houses, and a marque in case of April showers.
The Town Council had given permission to place information boards on the Old Railway Walk. Much deep discussion followed on the information board proposed near the bus shelter. We re-visited all the options, and still came back to our original idea. Now just the small matter of getting the County Council permission to put it on their land.
We had our usual interludes of loud music coming from the dance group holding their weekly class in the main hall, and it was ironic one of the songs blaring out was Freddy Mercury “The show must go on” (on the third time of playing it was getting difficult not to be distracted and sing along).
The display for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations grew bigger by the minute – which is great and fingers crossed the plan comes together.
Despite not being able to see the screen very well, the new web site was gone through. Everyone was pleased, and put forward suggestions for developing it.
